This poem comes from an old "Pogo" book that my Dad has. It's by Walt Kelly.
The way I remember it is this:
Wretched Richard richened sweet
by the fingers of his feet
toted tuppence with his toes
nodding nimbly next his nose
That's all I remember. I think it was said by Churchy La Femme the turtle.
