I happened on to your quest for the poem in the subject line. My wife used too read it to our children and grandchildren. Our granddaughter is expecting and ask if I could help her find a copy. I found at least two instances of the poem in our home library. It was written by Eugene Field, (1850 - 1895). Printed in book form and illustrated by Susan Jeffers in 1982. It is a hardcover book with ISBN No. 0-525-44022-4. The price at that time was $11.95. It may also be found in a hardcover book entitled "Young Years", published by Parents' Magazine Press, New York, NY, copyright MCMLX. This is a very nice book in which you will find many, many nursery rhymes, poems, fables, etc. I have no idea of the original cost of this book. The ISBN No. is 0-8193-0356-9 and the Library of Congress Catalog Card No. is 60-6299
