The verse you are referring to is "Old Mother Goose or the Golden Egg" by T. Batchelar, first recorded in a chapbook in about 1815. Usually only the first stanza is seen:
Old Mother Goose, when she wanted to wander,
Would ride through the air on a very fine gander.
The verse has 16 stanzas, which is too long to record here. The son's name is Jack.
