Hickory Dickory Dock!!

Posted by Bobbi on August 01, 2000 at 18:18:26:

Hi there. I am a 26 year old first time mom and am in desperate need of help in locating a nursery rhyme. When I was a child I used to recite the Hickory Dickery Dock poem over and over again. However, it was not just the traditional 5 line poem but the extended version you might say...I have not been able to locate this poem anywhere and I was wondering if you could help me or even knew someone who could...

I will type the first few lines that I can..

Hickory Dickory Dock
The mouse ran up the Clock
The clock struck one
And down he run
Hickory Dickory Dock

I'm hungry now said Mousey
I need a bite to eat
So he tiptoed to the kitchen
To look for something sweet.

He twitched his nose
From left to right
Until he started drooling
For over on the windwo sill
A cherry tart was cooling.

The sill was just a leap away
And quicker than a minute
Mousey landed on the tart
And stuck his nose right in it..

I see your tail the old cat said
It's hanging off the end
So stay right there
And I'll come up to visit you my friend.

That is all that I can remember of the poem (along with the endind)..Is there any chance you can help me out with this?

Sincerely,

Puzzled mom...
