"Star Light, Star Bright" is not really a Mother Goose Rhyme. It is a wishing verse, origin unknown.

"Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," on the other hand, is frequently included in nursery collections. It was written by Jane and Ann Taylor in 1806 and appeared in their second book, "Rhymes for the Nursery."
