'Leg over Leg' appears on page 94 along with the Mother Goose Nursery Rhyme "Little Nanny Etticoat" in "The Tall Book of Mother Goose" pictured by Feodor Rojankowvsiky, Copyright 1942 by Artists and Writers Guild, Inc., Printed in the United States of America by Harper & Brothers Publishers. The other side of that page - page 93 - contains a version of "Thirty Days Hath September". This page is torn from my childhood version of the book during illegal search and seizure and pillaging of my property sometime between 1994 and 1999. Perhaps that may help in analyzing any historical context of the rhyme within current contexts. I'd be interested why you were interested in investigating that rhyme - or possibly the other two rhymes appearing on the same page in the 1942 publication of Mother Goose? I believe it has specific reference to military/paramilitary activities.
