Welcome to the Librarians for Diverse Communities Web Site

Celebrating DiversityPerhaps no place in any community is so totally democratic as the town library. The only entrance requirement is interest.

- Lady Bird Johnson

Whether you are here as a first time visitor or a returning grantee we hope you have a good look around and see all that the LDC program has to offer.

If you are a current full- or part-time employee at a Serra library and are either working toward your master's degree in library science (or are thinking of beginning an MLIS program) this program is designed to help you reach your goal. (If you have been laid off or forced to quit a position in the last 48 months due to declining hours you may also be eligible).

Serra Cooperative Library System ims150 (3K)

Serra Cooperative Library System is a network of public, academic, and special libraries in the southern California counties of Imperial and San Diego. Our goal is to help member library agencies provide expanded resources and improved services at reduced costs through systematic interlibrary cooperation. We are a special district of the State of California, with funding primarily from the State, but augmented through member contributions and grants.
