what nursery rhyme is this?

Hi,
I have a project in school where you have 2 poems and you have to compare and contrast and find figurative language and stuff. Well one of the poems is "The Primer" by Josephine Jacobsen. It is about how nursery rhymes aren't all happy-cherry. Well anyways I found all of the nursery rhymes she was refering to except one. Maybe you can figure it out.

I had another friend (and you would know her name),
took up her candle on her way to bed.
She had a steady hand and a yellow head
up the tall stairwell, but the chopper came.

I have no clue which nursery rhyme this is referring to. Any help would be much appreciated.
